Again Star Wars...........?
oh i know what PVP is but whats the other and the advantages/dis etc?
lets learn more and then do new poll?
PvE: Player Versus Environment
RP: Role play (essentially a subset of PvE). More of a focus of making up your own stories. Was essential in Jumpgate, where there was actually very little to do. Seems a bit pointless with so much to do in WoW, where there is loads to do.
As TOR launches, my guess would be that there will be a little bit too little to do until the first content patch (purely because most MMO launch like that), then it will pick up.
For the most part i dont think true RP can exist in a themepark style game. True you can stay in character all the time, and play along with the provided story but thats the only thing it will ever be... just playing along.
I always thought RP was about making up your own story and then running with it. Few games let you do this however.
For the purposes of TOR im assuming an RP server is a standard PVE server were people shout at you if you dare to speak OOC on local chat
7 years agoAnybody considering to play this one - i actually preordered it now and wonder if we can plan a start together once it comes out?
Count me in
Havnt met a bioware game i didnt like (yet )
7 years agoI have - Mass Effect 2 hardly had a main story besides the "fetch your ship crew" quests and although I ended up spending 100h on it, I wasn't a big fan of Dragon Age either in the end.
I have no idea if I'll like TOR, the graphics style isn't my cup of tea and it's an MMO, I don't have enough time to spend it all on one game ... so if it's any good, I might become a casual player, depending ot the subscription model (and the release date )
Looking good, it actualy made me want to play through the sith side ... and thats saying something
Apparently he got to play a bit of the Smuggler too, without a dev walking him through it, and it should be up soon (if it isn't already).
